Lawrence Technological University (LTU) endeavors to exercise care and prudence in the handling of personal information, including data gathered on LTU’s website (www.ltu.edu). This privacy statement explains how LTU collects, protects and utilizes that information. This privacy statement applies only to the www.ltu.edu domain, and not to internal and external websites that might be linked to it, with a few exceptions, as below.
How LTU gathers information
LTU’s policy is to collect no personally identifiable information about you when you visit www.ltu.edu unless you choose to make such information available to us. However, LTU web servers do automatically recognize some non-personal information such as volume and timing of access as well as the Internet domain and IP address from which you visited the site.
LTU occasionally collects personal information through on-line data entry forms filled out by users at www.ltu.edu or via third-party created information forms, such as a ‘request for information’ form distributed by one of LTU’s advertising partners, such as YouVisit, Linkedin, or Facebook. Typically, this information includes a name, phone number, e-mail address, address, and other information you provide voluntarily. If you choose to share personal information, LTU will not sell that information to commercial entities. Please note that student information is kept confidential pursuant to federal and state regulations.
LTU also uses Google Analytics to collect site usage data and to analyze overall usage of the site. Google Analytics utilizes “cookies” to track user sessions so that it can collect data about how users navigate the site. The data collected does not include names, usernames, or email addresses. Individual IP addresses are collected, but they are not associated with individual users. You may prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by turning off cookies in the preferences settings in your browser.
How LTU uses information
LTU does not share, trade, or sell personal information to third parties.
LTU uses the information you submit to provide you with the service or information you requested, consistent with the purpose for which the information was collected.
LTU may also generate summary statistics about the volume, variety, timing and other characteristics of its web traffic in general, but such statistics do not contain personally identifiable information.
Retargeted advertisements about LTU may be directed to IP addresses collected at www.ltu.edu by Google Analytics. Again, you may prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by turning off cookies in the preferences settings in your browser.
This policy protects no portion of sites connecting from www.ltu.edu.
Acceptance of Terms
You are not required to provide personal information to visit ltu.edu. If you choose to provide personal information such as your email address, home address, and phone number, LTU may contact you.
