LTU awards hundreds of competitive scholarships to high-achieving freshmen and transfer students each year. In addition to merit-based scholarships, there are also opportunities for private, portfolio, and athletic scholarships. Incoming freshmen are highly encouraged to participate in the annual Scholarship Competition.  

LTU regulations restrict the total amount of institutional aid a student can receive, this includes; merit scholarships, athletic scholarships and any other combination of institutional scholarships or aid. Students are only eligible to receive one merit based scholarship.  

Freshmen students - once you have been admitted to Lawrence Tech, we'll automatically review your transcripts and test scores to see if you're eligible for any of our merit-based scholarship awards based on the following eligibility requirements. Students are only eligible for one merit based scholarship or the Raise.me micro-scholarships. Merit based freshman scholarships, Raise.me micro-scholarships and private and portfolio scholarships are only offered to new incoming students in the fall semester.  The following types of students are not eligible to receive merit based scholarships: students returning to LTU, students who change entry termsStudents who have signed an Athletic Letter of Intent and scholarship agreement form are not eligible for scholarship upgrades.  Scholarship upgrades are based on available funding. The Scholarship Upgrade Appeal is due by February 1 and can be completed by logging into your student status page here.

Lawrence Tech is proud to partner with Raise.me to offer 9th-12th graders the opportunity to easily earn scholarship dollars for achievements such as earning an A, participating in a co-curricular activity, taking an AP or IB course, or visiting our campus. 

Students pursuing a Masters of Architectural Engineering, Masters of Architecture or a Dual Degree in Civil Engineering & Architecture may be entitled to an additional year of funding. To be considered for this additional scholarship, students are a required to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in LTU coursework. Additional requirements may apply, please see the Office of Financial Aid. This award is for one year (two semesters) of graduate level coursework only.

Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa members interested in studying at Lawrence Tech after completing two years at a participating community college are eligible for a renewable scholarship of up to $3,000 per year. Students must have a 3.0 GPA and transfer in 24 credits before submitting application. Deadline: June 1st

Five Images Scholarship Award Program - CoAD Portfolio Scholarship
This scholarship is open to incoming freshmen and undergraduate transfer students entering programs within the College of Architecture and Design (Architecture, Interior Architecture, Graphic Design, Game Art, Industrial Design, or Transportation Design).

Submit your application, along with a 500 word essay regarding your FIRST experience, your career goals, and a letter of recommendation from one of your FIRST adult mentors for a chance to earn a $3,000 renewable scholarship. VEX Robotics Scholarship

Lawrence Technological University recognizes distinguished VEX Robotics students. LTU will award annually ten in-state and ten out-of-state scholarships, up to $3,000 each (valued up to $12,000 for four years), to qualified VEX team student participants. Candidates must be in his/her junior or senior year of high school and be an active VEX team member.

Project Lead the Way
Students in high school who pursue eligible Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses and receive a “B” grade or better in those courses will receive a $1,000 scholarship toward their tuition and fees upon entering their freshman year at Lawrence Tech. Upon admission into the College of Engineering and verification of the PLTW courses taken and grade requirement achieved, the newly admitted student will receive a letter from the Dean of the College of Engineering awarding them the scholarship. Scholarship Competition

Scholarship Competition winners will earn up to $4,000 per year for four years toward your education at Lawrence Tech. This is in addition to any academic scholarship for which you may qualify, total awards not to exceed full tuition.

How to Participate in Lawrence Tech’s Scholarship Competition:

This competition is open to accepted Fall 2019 High School Senior students.

1. Apply to Lawrence Tech, if you haven’t already: www.ltu.edu/apply.asp.

2. Write a 500 word response to the following topic and submit the essay through this portal by February 1, 2019. This essay is in addition to the required personal essay for admission.

Innovation is a hallmark of a Lawrence Technological University education. Choose a person whose innovations have inspired you. Explain why that person was successful and how his or her innovation is helpful to society. What characteristics of the innovator would you like to incorporate into your own life?

3. The writers of the best essays will be invited to attend the Scholarship Competition. There are three dates available to attend the competition. Please note that no exceptions will be made.
