MAIN Event20, the eighth annual celebration of design that helps launch the North American International Auto Show, will have a distinctly Lawrence Technological University flavor when it takes place Sunday, Jan. 14 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Ave. in midtown Detroit.
Keith Nagara, director of LTU's transportation design program, is MAIN Event’s executive chairman. And Lawrence Technological University students will display their visions of the future of mobility at both MAIN Event – and at NAIAS, which opens for Press Preview Days Sunday as well.
LTU design and scholarship awards will be presented by five corporate sponsors to include:
Two student concepts having Fiat Chrysler Automobile branding will be on display at MAIN Event – and during the NAIAS press preview Jan. 14-16, Industry Preview Days Jan. 17-18, and the public show Jan. 20-28, at the Lawrence Tech exhibit in the main concourse of Cobo Center.
MAIN Event will also see the presentation of auto industry awards, and will conclude with a fashion show featuring Michigan-based designers. MAIN Event – the name is an acronym for MotorCity Automotive Industry Night – runs from 4 to 8 p.m.
